Friends, in my previous post of this series I had mentioned about the Pushkar lake (Sarovar). Now in this post I’ll take you the another major attraction of Pushkar and that is Brahma Temple, the only temple in the world of its kind.

Oasis of peace and joy in the centre of Pushkar – Hotel Navratan Palace

In the last three posts of this series I have described everything about our short tour of Ajmer and Pushkar, now through this final post I wish to share my experiences with the stay in hotel Navratan Palace in Pushkar.

In our this tour we didn’t had any plan to stay in Ajmer because we had to move to Pushkar from Ajmer in the same afternoon after visiting the Ajmer Dargah Sharif, our plan of night stay was at Pushkar.

Usually I don’t get any prior booking/reservations for our stay during our tour, because mostly we visit on religious places for pilgrimage and temples and our preference always goes for the hotel / guest house / dharmashala which is as closed to main shrine as possible, so I always prefer to search an accommodation after reaching the destination and by following this practice I had never felt any kind of suffering so far.

So, after visiting that beautiful church and praying for few minutes before Jesus, we now had to catch a bus for Pushkar and after some inquiry we were informed that the RSRTC buses ply between Ajmer and Pushkar after every ten minutes from Ajmer bus stand. To reach bus stop we boarded in a city bus who took us to bust stop in ten minutes. Though I had already been to Pushkar around 13 years back, when I visited Ajmer to appear in the Railway Recruitment Board Ajmer’s exam for Junior Engineer after completion of my Engineering.

It was a hot day and we were feeling very uncomfortable due to this heat. As we got down from city bus at bus stop, a bus was ready to leave for Pushkar. We boarded in the bus and our tour from Ajmer to pushkar started, from this bus we saw the famous and huge lake Anasagar of Ajmer. Its indeed a beautiful and scenic lake. After around fifteen minutes run through the Ajmer city the main road leading to Pushkar started. Pushkar is at a distance of around 12 KM’s from Ajmer bus stand and usually it takes approx half an hour to reach there.

It was middle of June this year and after our Karnataka and Mumbai tour in March, it was a long stretch of about two months that our minds were completely out of any thought of Ghumakkari. For the people like me, two months are equal to two years if I am not on a tour, so now somewhere in June  the travel bug started wriggling badly in my head and I started thinking in this direction and developed an idea to plan a small tour to be carried out in the month of August.

महेश्वर किला – पत्थर की दीवारों में कैद यादें………..भाग 3 (समापन किश्त) By: Kavita Bhalse

इस श्रंखला के पिछले भाग में मैंने आपको जानकारी दी थी की किस तरह से हम महेश्वर में अहिल्या घाट पर कुछ देर रूककर नर्मदा में बोटिंग के लिए गए तथा जलस्तर अधिक होने के कारण नर्मदा के बीच टापू पर बने सुन्दर शिव मंदिर में दर्शन नहीं कर पाए. नर्मदा माँ का रौद्र रूप देखा था उस दिन हमने, माँ नर्मदा की बड़ी बड़ी लहरों की वजह से हमारी नाव बुरी तरह से हिचकोले खा रही थी तथा हमें डर लग रहा था लेकिन नाव चालक ने हमें आश्वासन दिया की हमें सुरक्षित किनारे तक ले जाने की उसकी जिम्मेदारी है और फिर हम सारी चिंता, डर छोड़कर बोटिंग का आनंद लेने लगे. पिछले भाग में मैंने माँ नर्मदा का परिचय देने का भी एक छोटा सा प्रयास किया था………………..अब आगे.

बोटिंग तथा शिवम् को घोड़े की सैर कराने के बाद हमने एक छोटी दूकान से कुछ चने एवं ककड़ी खरीदी तथा उन्हें खाते हुए अब आगे बढ़ रहे थे किले में प्रवेश के लिए. घाट के पास से ही किले में प्रवेश करने के लिए एक चौड़ा घेरा लिए बहुत सारी सीढियाँ बनी हुई हैं जिन्हें आपने पिछली पोस्ट्स में किले के चित्रों के साथ देखा ही होगा. इन सीढियों पर चढ़ते हुए हम किले में प्रवेश कर गए. यह किला जितना सुन्दर बाहर  से है उससे भी ज्यादा सुन्दर तथा आकर्षक यह अन्दर से लगता है. इतनी सुन्दर कारीगरी, इतनी सुन्दर शिल्पकारी, इतना सुन्दर एवं मजबूत निर्माण की आज भी यह किला नया जैसा लगता है.

अन्दर जाकर एक तरफ राज राजेश्वर शिव मंदिर है तथा दूसरी तरफ एक अन्य स्मारक है. कुल मिला कर एक बड़ा ही सुन्दर दृश्य उपस्थित होता है. और कहीं जाने के मन ही नहीं होता है तथा ऐसा लगता है की घंटों एक ही जगह खड़े होकर इस किले की नक्काशी तथा कारीगरी, झरोखों, दरवाज़ों एवं दीवारों को बस देखते ही रहें. कुछ देर स्तब्ध होकर चारों और देखने के बाद अब हम राज राजेश्वर मंदिर में दर्शन के लिए चल दिए.
